Accreditation

Accreditation of schools is done by Umalusi, which is the Council for Quality Assurance in General and Further Education and Training in South Africa, which includes schools.
Umalusi does not accredit a school immediately after it opens; accreditation is a separate quality-assurance process that takes time after the school is already registered and operational.
Once registered, the school must apply to Umalusi for accreditation within one year.
After the school submits its application and self-evaluation report, Umalusi typically works on a turnaround of up to 12–18 months from that point, including evaluation, possible site visit, and decision-making by the accreditation committee. Lion Pride Academy aims to complete its accreditation process in 2027.
Once a school has been registered, it is in a fully legal position to operate until accreditation has been received.
